Day 2 of Diablo 3's 1.0.7 PTR and I have had enough time to check out all the basics of the new crafting system so here is a guide and overview for beginners to the system! Covers what you can craft, how to get the plans, what materials the recipes use and a few insights into the best way to go about getting started.

6 Property Armor pieces include:
- Gloves
- Bracers
- Chest piece
- Amulet
- Shoulders
Each of these armor pieces has different mainstat variants, which means you can choose whether to craft dex, int, strength or vitality pieces.

AND the new Marquise Gem tier!
- 1 demonic essence, 3 radiant stars and 20 million gold, so they are extremely expensive to make, at least 80million gold each.

The plans for the armor and the marquise gems have a small chance to drop anywhere but a 50% chance for one to drop from a boss whenever you have five stacks.
- monster power has no effect on this chance so the best MP is the one you can do the fastest, so Monster power 0 for most people.

The best strategy when you first start with this new crafting system is to focus on low monster power plan farming. Since demonic essences have a 20% chance to drop even at MP0 you will still acquire a fair few while you farm up the plans you need.

Almost everything in this new system is account bound, the only thing that isn't is the actual plans. This is quite good because it means you can sell off whatever duplicates you find on the auction house.

Once you have all plans you need you can then bump up the monster power a bit to start hunting elites for their demonic essences. Alternatively you can stick with your normal act 3 experience runs and acquire the essences over time, the choice is yours.
