Diablo III - Barbarian Greater Rift Level 57
Utilizing the higher gear along with Focus and Restraint and a few more Paragon levels, this playstyle worked for me to also clear Greater Rifts 54 and 55.
However Greater Rift 56 and upwards proved too much of a challenge, and so I attempted it when I returned to the game for Patch 2.4.1, adjusted gems, and augmenting of gear.
After taking awhile to learn about the new augmenting of gear, I put my rifting on hold and worked on supplanting my pieces with additional strength (core) by utilizing the new augment system. This is done by taking an Ancient-Only piece of equipment, and breaking down one of the Legendary Gems in the cube. Augmenting requires Level 30 for weapons, Level 40 gems for Rings, and Level 50 gems for armor pieces, per piece, so it can take awhile to re-level gems. But equipment piece + ranked up gem + 3 Royal Gems of whichever core stat color you need go into the cube, and it then gives you Caldesann’s Despair – a buff of 5 stat points per rank of gem. Hence a Rank 50 Gem would give a Barbarian 250 Strength, for example.
After augmenting most of my gear, I attempted Greater Rift 56 onwards with much success so far. Whirlwinding and augments have helped me clear several more rifts thus far, still in progress.
