Greetings Commanders,

The Diamondback Explorer is by far one of the best small sized ships for exploration. When engineered for exploration only a few other ships like the Anaconda, can go toe to toe with this ship with regards to jump range. The ships only weakness is the Class 4 Fuel Scoop, it desperately needs a Class 5 or better yet Class 6. If it did, it would probably be the best exploration ship in the game!

My Engineered DBX is very practical and has a 74.03LY jump range even when fully fuelled!
You will need to power manage though. Turn off at least one AFMU and only use them both when landed somewhere. :)


For the Pre-engineered FSD V1 (Class 5) you will need to find a Human Technology Broker (there is one at Solo Orbiter in the Altair system).
When you get there, you will need these materials to unlock it,

Tellurium - 26
Electrochemical Arrays - 26
Chemical Processors - 28
Datamined Wake Exceptions - 18
