Dicing Knight Period: Any% speedrun in 31:35
4Dicing Knight is a cute little action roguelike for the Wonderswan. I stumbled onto it and just had to give it a speedrun. The previous WR for this game was 1:15:00 or so and is a very well executed run in its own right. So where's the 44 minute difference come into play? The dungeon skip glitch.
I perform this run by utilizing a glitch the previous WR holder used on the final dungeon, except I execute it on EVERY dungeon, skipping most of the game. The dungeons are supposed to be 3, 4, 5, 6, and 12 floors respectively, but I only need to do one floor each.
I had pretty amazing luck in this run, but I got a bit reckless and went for the final boss with only one defensive orb (the white one, which grants more HP). This resulted in several deaths totaling about 5 minutes of loss before I finally took her down.
Looks like my goal is sub-25. Good luck and execution can grant this.
PS: The quality on this one's a bit bad because the floors are constantly in motion. I'm going to need to dial my encoding bitrate up to handle that. I will in future videos/streams.
PPS: My timer says 31:32 but the previous runner established the convention of stopping the timer when the results screen pops up; not when you pick up the lottery ticket. Three second difference.
