This is a speedrun of the Xin Shan Quan / Kung Fu chapter of Live A Live.

This chapter has an interesting mechanic in that your main character doesn't gain experience. Instead, he trains three pupils and, in winning these fights, they gain experience. In the final leg of the chapter, you will take control of the pupil you have trained up the most.

In most play-thrus, you want to use all your trainings on one pupil so their stats are maxed out. In this speedrun, we use all the trainings that give speed and vitality on Li, then once she hits level 7, we use the remaining trainings on Yuan (who's easier to KO) to use them up faster. The missing stat bonuses don't matter for the skills I choose to use for the rest of the chapter, so no harm is done. This saves maybe 20-30 seconds.

We're not going to talk about how close to death I came when fighting two of the fat guys near the end. I should have moved Li down right from the start; a mistake I didn't repeat in the next fight.

Honestly, this chapter could be up to 5 minutes faster if I could evade the trash fights in the temple, but a lot of those dodges are very narrow windows that I've only seen pulled off in the TAS. More work on that required. This is probably the weakest of my ILs so far.
