Did these speedruns really happen? | Beyond Truly Remarkable
My friends... there have been many incredible stories told in the world of speedrunning and gaming. From speedrunners setting incredible world records, to scientists discovering incredible new strategies after 20+ years, to gamers questing for ages to finally set an elusive score, and all that comes in between. But are you able to detect a true story from a fake one?
In this video, inspired by 90's television program "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction", I share three stories about speedrunning... at least one is based on real events, and at least one is completely made up. Can you tell which is which? All will be revealed by the end of the video, so sit back, relax, and enjoy!
I've wanted to do an April Fool's video for a few years now, but never felt "quite" right just outright inventing stories... that is until recalling the "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction" format of storytelling. A couple of my mates really like Jonathan Frakes memes, and so, I thought I'd make this video to put a smile on their face. I plan on this being a one-time thing (or maybe a once-a-year thing, around April Fool's day...), so hope you enjoy! (and if not, that's OK... I'll have another video in a week or two... and you can take some of the unreferenced background gameplay footage as a hint of what game might be the topic of my next video...)
