Did Unity just Lie about Enlighten?

Yesterday I reported that Unity was removing Enlighten from Unity game engine in future releases. Part of the story didn't seem to add up, as I mentioned in that video. Now with a bit more detail, it's really feeling like Unity outright lied or at the very least mislead in that announcement.

The dumbest part is... the truth would have been fine. Nothing was gained here, but potential confusing/brand damage to Enlighten can certainly happen.
