About:
Yoshitaka Amano is a Japanese artist and designer who gained significant recognition for his work on the popular video game franchise, Final Fantasy. Amano's distinct style, characterized by wispy lines and vibrant use of color, has been a defining feature of the series since its inception. He joined Square (now Square Enix) in 1987 and produced conceptual design pieces for the first game, Final Fantasy, as well as character designs and promotional artwork for subsequent games. Although he stepped down as the main character and graphic designer of the series after Final Fantasy VI in 1994, Amano continued to provide promotional and character artwork for the games and design their title logos. His work on Final Fantasy, along with his science fiction and fantasy illustrations, earned him international recognition, making him one of the world's highest-earning artists in 1996, with sales of silk screens, lithographs, and etchings based on his book illustrations.
