2,371The effects team had to get creative to get the shot where Jack the Monkey shivers. The effects crew had to create a small wooden barrel that had a vibrating plate on top of it. To go along with that, the animal training department had to train the monkey to fold its arms whenever it sat on the barrel. Also, Gore Verbinski decided to base Singapore off of a parody of spa culture. The humid atmosphere was achieved with gallons of water and creative lighting. To top it off, fungi was allowed to grow on the set to add to the mood.
