There was a scene filmed that would showcase a shirtless Newt Scamander, and it would showcase the scars that he’s gotten from working with dangerous animals. Eddie even worked out extensively just for the one scene, but they decided to cut it from the final cut of the film. This isn’t the first time that Eddie tried to be part of the Harry Potter universe though. He was the only choice for Newt, and he didn’t even have to audition. On the other hand, he auditioned for the role of Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. He was turned down after reading one line.
