810The film was completely re-edited by the studio after seeing the original version. They made it so that there was more of an emphasis on action, and they cut it down from an R rating to a PG-13. Over thirty minutes were removed, and Milla Jovovich has stated that she was disappointed in how the studio handled the footage cuts. Both Milla and Jurt Wimmer have disowned the film since it doesn’t represent his original vision anymore.
