The found-footage horror movie phenomenon originally had a different ending. The legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg convinced the small-budgeted movie’s director Oran Peli to change the original ending. Peli's original ending didn't satisfy Spielberg, so he offered a different one and even gave him an additional $4,000 from the studio to shoot the new ending and make additional changes. The entire film was shot at Peli’s own home & with a digital camera, and was finished in just 2 weeks.
