Maniac% is more of a challenge and less of a speedrun, because it is really, really difficult to complete. The rules of Maniac% are as follows (enter these codes in the Options menu):

Arnold (Big Characters), ToxicOffender (Balloons are green), Freeforall (Maximum Power-Up), BogusBananas (Bananas reduce speed), Zapthezippers (Turn off zippers), Timetolose (Ultimate AI). Use the character Krunch, and complete all trophy races winning the 1st place gold trophy in all of them. Also need to complete the trophy races in the intended order (Dino, Sherbet, Snowflake, Dragon, Future Fun Land).

I almost got really lucky completing this first try, but I got sniped at the very end of Haunted Woods, giving me 8th place, which lost the golden trophy. Then I realized how difficult this challenge was and a few hours later, finally completed it. From Walrus Cove to Haunted Woods is where all the resets happened, and based on how the ranking/points system works, you need to essentially win most of the tracks in a world with minimal mistakes. The AI is directly behind you the entire track (outside of plane tracks, where barrel rolling helps a whole lot). Krunch's stats make a lot of mistakes not even recoverable. I am the 2nd person to complete this challenge.

The final time is 36:17, though it's not too relevant since this is only looked at as a challenge.
