Dig Dug II: The Championship Bowling Battle of Cybernoid
00:00 - The Battle of Olympus
09:32 - Championship Bowling
13:16 - Cybernoid: The Fighting Machine
17:14 - Dig Dug II: Trouble in Paradise
Four games for the Nintendo Entertainment System on the docket today.
The Battle of Olympus is a game I remember being advertised at me on TV back in the day. Playing it now, it is a blatant rip-off of Zelda II. But with a minty fresh Greek mythology theme.
Championship Bowling is a boring bowling game, but hey, it features a lady giving you the middle finger on the title screen, so there's that!
Cybernoid: The Fighting Machine is a strange SHMUP. It's more of a falling simulator really. Your ship falls but you can kinda hover. And really, instead of shooting, you spend your time figuring out how to get through the obstacles.
Dig Dug II tried to change up the Dig Dug maze formula with new gameplay mechanics. It kinda failed at the time, but it's an interesting concept. I wonder if it wan't called Dig Dug if it would have done better.
