This is the SIXTH game in our Survival Horror Classics series, and I really enjoyed playing it. Not being able to kill most dinosaurs, and having them respawn so often, was more than mildly annoying.
Combat is a separate nightmare on its own with the fast moving dinosaurs, as opposed to slow zombies, until you figure it out. And then its STILL a nightmare if there's more than one dinosaur at once.
The overly complicated "mixing" system was also somewhat unnecessary, as it would just fill your inventory with components, that do nothing on their own (unlike the herbs in RE).
Having the whole game in 3D works well for Dino Crisis, but I wouldn't call it better or worse than the pre-rendered background style of the Resident Evil games.
Saving while leaving the saving room was a weird decision, but you basically have unlimited saves that way, compared to the Resident Evil ribbon system. Also the "rescuscitation" items, along with the 5 continues you get overall, go a long way to give you another try, if you happen to get torn to shreds, again.
In that way, combat was harder, ammo scarcer, but you could save anytime and just retry, as well, if you didn't want to reload.
Overall a solid experience that one shouldn't miss out on, if you like Survival Horror Classic games.
And back to the controllers: I forgot to show you the PSOne controller, which again is different (but sameish). It's white color matches the PSOne, which is a smaller, redesigned version of the PS1, that released back in 1994/1995. The PSOne controller is essentially a white Dual Shock controller, with sticks and motors.
And there you have it!
