(c) Assertion is true but the Reason is false.

Assertion: From a smooth surface incident light is reflected in only one direction.

Reason: As the angle of incidence is always equal to the angle of reflection, therefore a parallel beam of rays falling on a smooth surface is reflected as a parallel beam of rays in one direction only.
