First of all, if you don't like the saturation used, then boo hoo for you. Personally, I'm a huge fan of epic over-saturation. I've even purposely over-saturated my TV, so that everything I see on it has a ton of colors. I don't know why, but that's just the way I like it (cue KC and the Sunshine Band).

Anyways, I finally got a hold of DiRT 3 a few days ago, and I've been playing it pretty much non-stop for two days. There was one thing I noticed in the replay, which I thought was quite interesting. I knew that you could have it play back in slow-motion, though that'd normally mean you'd have to hold your fingers painstakingly steady, to keep it going at a constant speed.

Since I'm using a wheel, I found out that I can also control the speed with the wheel, by turning it more or less to the right. And since there's no FFB in replays, it'll hold itself in position, so I can leave and do whatever I want, while I record the replay in super slo-mo. No need to hold my index finger still for two hours, or maybe coming up with some clever contraption to hold R2 steady.

And yes, the entire replay in super slow motion was over two hours long, while the normal speed replay was only 3 minutes. That means that the super slo-mo stuff is running at only 2.5% normal speed (Twixtor, eat your heart out!)

But yeah, after I discovered that it was possible, I thought it could be fun to make something similar to the GT5 experimentage, where, instead of switching the time of day, I'd switch the speed of time. I originally wanted to have a good balance between normal speed and slo-mo stuff, but it proved quite heard, since:
1) Each clip in the replay was waaaay too short. It was hard to find a properly long clip.
2) I couldn't really find a good way to make the sounds seemless. Like, when switching from full speed to slo-mo, the engine sound needs to be cut off. Most of the time, it sounds kinda awkward.
3) Slo-mo just generally looked better.

I know there were a lot of things I could've done better, but I tried to edit it as fast as I can, since there are a lot of other things I need to work on.

Another thing: You may remember in the last experimental montage, I tried out the 2.37:1 aspect ratio. Well, in this game, unlike GT5, the replays (and menus) are actually in the 2.37:1 aspect ratio by default, so I didn't really have a choice this time.

The song used is:
Dancing Pigeons - Ritalin

The music video to that song is incredibly awesome, so if you haven't seen it already, then I'd highly recommend you to go do it now! It's kinda the same style as this video, except it features a flamethrower and extinguisher in awesome super slo-mo, instead of a rally car.

I hope you enjoy!
