Dishonored Definitive Edition Gameplay Walkthrough 5 Part -KJS
This is a so-so stealth with combat game. Enemies have the usual limited vision, hearing, and intelligence that are hallmarks of the genre. The abilities and gadgets you have are decent. The setting and story are ok. If not for the hamhanded way morality works, this would be a solid middle of the pack game.
The game's intent is that your actions throughout the game shape the reactions of others and thus the story. Translation: the more you kill, the less you can do anything else. For example, if you killed a bunch of thugs in a previous mission, their gang leader in the next mission might not help you. Not a bad idea, right?
The first problem is the huge lack of non-lethal ways to neutralize people. You can have a total of 107 lethal items (bullets, grenades, etc), but only 10 sleep darts. None of your special abilities are non-lethal. The only unlimited method for non-lethal takedowns is a sleeper hold on an unsuspecting target, which leads to...
The second problem is that if you kill to defend yourself, it is no different than killing indiscriminately. So if accidentally alert some thugs while trying to avoid them, your options are to try to run away, kill them all, or reload your last save. Alerted enemies always use lethal force and you cannot negotiate with them.
