Spoilers for Mother 1/Earthbound Zero/Beginnings & Earthbound hmeah. So bemweah. Lead trightly, viewer.

This is seriously, like, such a masterfully composed song. It's the perfect evolution of Giegue's theme from EB0, straining to play within the advanced stages of Giegue's madness, and with hints of Giygas's theme from EB, and the *brilliant* use of vocal samples from the EB soundtrack to provide a twinge of, idk, corrupt childishness to it? It also straight up sounds like screams. Around the thirty-five second mark.

The way it starts ingame is fantastic, too. Halfway through an otherwise normal battle with Giegue, he just *snaps*-- the rockin' music stops (I think it might use a remix of Pokey Means Business...?), Giegue abruptly mutates into a broken, twisted form within the swirling wisps of his future self. Then, the music starts, squealing as if in pain as he utters one word.

It's the perfect word.

supposedly in older versions instead he said "Stop existing." which is just so dumb =w=; like if your brain has just completely broken, the last thing you're gonna say is something so cold, calm and robotic. I'm glad they changed it-- "...hate." is so much more powerful. It says everything it needs to with nothing but a base emotion.

Oh I guess I should say the game. It's Mother: Cognitive Dissonance.
