Before the usual music discussion, I have something to say to everyone who's been patient with me. I'd like to apologize for the lack of videos, and even more for the lack of explanations I've given for this. I've been going through the roughest time I've gone through in a while, and to be honest I've been trying to find myself this whole time. I've been enjoying a lot of my hobbies, including these videos, less and less. If it means anything, I've been dealing with anxiety problems for a good half year now, plus I'm still trying to figure out whether or not I just need a good new idea for videos or if I need to move on to another activity. Plus, my computer was stolen in August... and that had a lot of the scripts and even one of the edited videos for PokeMonth. I might do PokeMonth somewhere down the line, but for now it's not looking likely.

The point is, I'm still trying to pick up the pieces, so to speak. If I'm going to keep making these videos, it has to be something I feel fulfilled in making. I'm still figuring out what that is, so in the meantime you'll have to bear with me. I'm sorry that I've broken so many promises. But with that said, I think it's time I brought back a little seasonal tradition...

...Now, Skullgirls.

This fighting game is a lot of fun, from what I've played of it (even though I suck at it)! The art style's colourful, creative, and energized, and I love the game's soundtrack, which is mostly jazz. So, when I saw Eliza's DLC mode, I wasn't prepared for how grotesque the Gehenna level was.

So yeah, this place just doesn't fit with the rest of Skullgirls, and it's kind of cool to see how mysterious it is. The art style's unique here, with tons of strange tumour-like eyeball growths everywhere and that MUSIC. Like, this generally doesn't fit with how I'd imagine regular fighting game music; it's heavier on atmosphere than any kind of melody, but that's only the kicker to how wrong this piece sounds. The choir here (what little there is) is droning and eerie, and those screams and gibberish? It's the perfect depiction of a place where people go to be damned forever, fitting for how "Gehenna" is another name for Hell in Judeo-Christian myth.
