Diver's [ダイバーズ] Introduction -- PC-98
Diver's is a hentai simulation/breeding game set in a post-apocalyptic future from the "great" hentai game circle, Mink. You take the role of a young man named Shirou, who is the champion of a virtual battle tournament (the new and hip "sport" of the time...dubbed "Cyclone" or "Cyclones") that was in the Tokyo (or Neo Tokyo) Geo Stadium during 2065AD. After winning the battle, Shirou is celebrating his victory with sex until four young women interrupt him and enter his room. To make a long story short, you must now train the women to become champions (sort of against your will originally) and make their way up in the world.
It's a princess maker-esque sort of breeder; grow characters by choosing several activities that your lady will do for each day of the week (a regular seven day week). You can also gamble and rest to help them relax from the rigors of hard work. You can also buy "Weapon Discs" and drugs to help you out and if you don't have much time to train because someone challenged you to a battle, you can "force" some extra stat points up at the training facility for some relatively hefty prices. You get the most money from battling opponents and either selling their weapon discs or by taking credits (money) from them.
The different girls start with different parameters and have different personalities, but the game is pretty simple with little interactivity. You can't interact when you gamble or anything. Before fighting in battles, you get the choice to suggest how your girl should fight...it's usually not a good idea (in my experiences, anyway) to fight with anything but a BALANCED fighting style (the first option on top). You CANNOT control the girls in the battles; it boils down to stats and a little luck. The computer can be a cheap SOB at times too; other times, they suck big time.
I haven't known about Mink for too long, but they seem to make excellent quality CGs and artwork; this game is no exception. Otherwise, the game is a basic breeder with a little replayability, boobs, fair (nothing great) music, and good artwork (for PC-98). It's definitely playable, but so are a lot of games.
