At 3:16pm - just 33 minutes after seeing DL's 9688 and 9037 on Train 334S - we find another DL passing through Matapihi with Train 485. This is the Sunday version of Train 483, which is a weekdays-only run that is the return working of 482. 485 is the return working of 484.

485 is also the class of a type of electric multiple unit that ran on the Isle of Wight from 1967 to 1991. The Class 485's - otherwise known as 4-VEC - were modified London Underground Standard Stock units.

As is typical for a Kinlieth train, this working was carrying logs. What I wasn't expecting is for today's working of Train 485 to be so short. Normally these trains also have JT class newsprint wagons in the consist.
