The duo must go to the Water Grotto to find the Water of Life needed to free Tengai, Binan and Chitose,
But before that, Higan and Subaru decide to explore the Crane Nation to find other Hermits and obtain more skills and scrolls.
Firstly, The pair come across the Booming Cutter Hermit. He challenges Higan to a one on one duel. Just be aware of Higans health during this fight and heal when needed. Have Higan cast Thunder cutter skill throughout and the hermit should go down in no time. As a reward for beating him, the boom cutter hermit teaches Higan a new technique: The Boom cutter; a powerful attack against all enemies, but at the cost of some of Higans health points.
Next, the pair meet the Buck scroll hermit and get the Buck scroll which raises attack power.
They then meet the Witch Hermit who gives them the Seal scroll. This seals an enemies skills. Nice.
With that done, the duo now go to the Ripple Grotto to obtain the Water of Life.
