Discussions around TTRPG campaigns, whether they be D&D-style fantasy, sci-fi, modern, sandbox, narrative, story-game or emergent, do not usually include talk about theme. I'm not referring here to the genre or style but theme. What is it that we, as creators of campaign worlds, trying to say with our worlds? I think that not only by thinking about this question but incorporating our particular answers into our worlds, we make our worlds deeper and more fulfilling places in which to play.
