A process video showing me create an art journal spread inspired an abstract painting I did. I add both visual and tactile texture to the make.

I start by adding extra pieces of cardstock to my journal. Normally I work on separate pieces a lot longer, but this time I was fearing how the paper would react to the paste coming on top. After mounting the pieces I then add modeling paste to the surface and use a self-made texture comb to add pattern to it. I then let the project dry before adding color on top. I use acrylic paints to add the initial color layer to the background. I then add some stamping and doodling to it, to add visual texture. I finish the piece with a focal point made out of a vintage photo die cut and some butterfly wings.

Thank you for watching!
