Do I Care About Control?
Hey hey Folks! In this video, I delve into the intriguing world of Control. Join me as I struggle to connect emotionally with the characters.
As a fan of X-Files, I was drawn to Control's premise of a government agency dedicated to understanding the unknown. However, as I analyze the game's strengths and weaknesses, I realize that my emotional investment in Control's characters falls short. I reflect on my experience with other games from the same studio, Remedy, and how character motivation played a pivotal role in my attachment to previous titles.
The setting of the Federal Bureau of Control is fascinating, with its mysterious and ever-changing Oldest House. But I can't help but wish for more focus on character development and the Bureau's inhabitants, rather than primarily combat-oriented gameplay.
Throughout the video, I discuss the implications of Control's unique setting, the disconnect I felt with the characters, and how the combat and visuals stand out as the game's most impactful aspects. I offer my thoughts on the potential of a sequel to address these concerns and provide a reason for emotional investment.
