Do Launch Control and Anti Lag Make You Faster? Testing Multiple Cars at the Horizon Drag Strip
Forza Horizon 5 just introduced antilag and launch control - but how valuable are they? Is antilag worth installing on all race turbo builds, and should you leave launch control on or off?
In this test I tried to eliminate all human variables by turning on auto steer and auto shifting. This meant I just had to hold down the gas and let the car do the rest. It's worth noting that this deoes short shift most cars, leading to a slightly exaggerated turbo lag effect, and the auto steer doesn't do the *best* job of keeping the car straight on launch, slightly affecting launch control's ability to grip. However, throughout more of my own manual testing, this did not meaningfully affect the outcome/results of the tests.
There are other aspects to consider with launch control like the controller layout launch bug and clutch slipping, but these are less consistent, less well known, and even less possible on certain hardware, and were not considered for the testing in this video.
