In this Nintendo character analysis, I ask a question: Do Nintendo characters have compelling personalities? Many people have claimed that Nintendo characters are "boring" or "one dimensional", but I don't think that they're truly dissecting Nintendo characters enough, as Nintendo games do a lot to flesh out their characters, even outside of the story itself. Simply looking at Mario, Samus Aran, team Star Fox, or even Fzero characters show an interesting way of how Nintendo characters, in particular, are fleshed out through more subtle aspects like gameplay and even the games themselves.

Schaffrillas Productions once asked in his Kid Icarus Uprising video, "Do Nintendo characters have compelling personalities". This was a question that was used to essentially downplay many famous video game characters, and even though it was a mostly minor question in his video, it was used as a starting point to elaborate on the other characters in Kid Icarus Uprising and how they're "so much better" than most video game characters. As much as I respect Schaffrillas as a content creator, I found this to be a very foolish thing to say because he seemed to be ignorant of how Nintendo characters are fleshed out and even how character design works. You don't have to have your characters go through various story beats to flesh out your characters, and I feel like Nintendo has understood this better than most other video game companies. They flesh out their characters through simple character design, gameplay, and subtle lore pieces that you notice while playing the game.

Also, I have no idea why he used a PIRANHA PLANT of all things as a means of supporting his argument, but I digress.
