203What is Yusuke's sexuality in Persona 5? Easy: Yusuke Kitagawa is asexual, and I fail to see why he wouldn't be. Others would say that Yusuke is a gay character, but those people are wrong. Just because you don't have an interest in girls doesn't mean that you're a gay person. If you've been paying attention in Persona 5, you'd see some signs of how Yusuke's personality hints at him being asexual. Remember that sexuality is not black and white, and I think that Kitagawa-kun would agree with me on that front.
The thing about Yusuke is that, even though it's never been officially pointed out, Yusuke's character goes through many common feelings that people in the asexual community tend to go through. Even though his sexuality is not given any time in the spotlight, you can still feel his mindset and outlook on romance. It's something that he's never been able to understand. A part of that is due to the fact that he has been sheltered by Madarame for most of his life, but even with his exposure to many women flirting with him, he's never been able to comprehend or pursue any sort of romantic feelings, let alone sexual feelings.
