Do you remember the last words // I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream (MS-DOS, 1995)
"I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" video game, released in 1995, is a point-and-click adventure developed by Cyberdreams, with direct involvement from Harlan Ellison, the author of the original short story. This psychological horror game follows the same bleak and dystopian tone as the story but expands the narrative with interactive elements and multiple character perspectives.
Overview
In the game, the supercomputer AM has continued its torture of the last five humans on Earth for 109 years. These characters—Ted, Ellen, Gorrister, Benny, and Nimdok—are forced to relive personal traumas AM creates to break their spirits. Each character faces a unique "hell," tailored to their psychological weaknesses, guilt, or past sins. The goal of the game is to navigate these scenarios, solve puzzles, and, ideally, find redemption or escape AM's torturous grasp.
