Dead or Alive 6's twelfth session of the advanced guide looks at the ground game in DOA6, referred to as okizeme. The key to the ground game is to either go for hard knockdown that allow for ground attack follow-ups that are either guaranteed or force the opponent to perform a ukemi tech roll to avoid the attacks. Once the opponent is effectively forced to tech roll every time, you can continue pressure on them upon their wake-up.

You can take this one step further, forego the wake-up game altogether, and perform Forced Tech setups to force the opponent up from the ground while you gain frame advantage over them. Forced Techs are executed in DOA6 when 2 or 3 ground hits connect with a downed opponent in quick succession. These Forced Techs are commonly utilized off of DOA6's new "bound" system (i.e you forgo your bound combo damage for a Forced Tech setup).

An alternative is to focus around controlling the neutral game by focusing around knockback moves that blast the opponent away; and potentially into environmental dangerzones, forcing them to have to get-in on you again. This is especially if they're at a life deficit.

Each number represents the corresponding direction. 1 for "Down-Back", 9 for "Up-Forward", 5 for "Neutral" or no input, etc. Quarter-Circle Back = 214, Quarter-Circle Forward = 236, Half-Circle Back = 63214, Half-Circle Forward = 41236, etc.

For Input commands:

P = Punch
K = Kick
H = Hold/Guard Button
T = Throw Button
S = Special Button
P+K = Strong punch
H+K = Strong Kick
H+P = Alternate Way to Input "Throw"
H+P+K = Alternate Way to Input "S"
