DockHounds Coach gets ejected from minor league baseball game - Cougar game 7-28-22 - Jim Bennett
Thursday July 28, 2022 featured the Lake Country DockHounds vs Kane County Cougars at Northwestern Medicine Field (IL) minor league baseball game. In the top of the 6th inning, manager Jim Bennett was ejected from the game. I guess he was upset from the home base umpire's pitching calls (Nick Webb).
Things got a little heated as teammates had to restrain him. Unfortunately, I couldn't start recording until after the umpire gave him the "get outta here" hand gesture. The crowd started to sing the "hey-hey-hey good-bye" song as he was exiting the field from the dugout.
What's funny is the very next inning, the Cougars hit a Grand Slam!!! All this happened on Thirsty Thursday so dogs, beers, and soda were $2. It was also free bobblehead night for the first few fans that entered.
The Cougars won the game with a final score of 13 to 3. Nearly 8,000 people were at the game that night.
