Three games out of four just up and crash on me in this episode. This is mainly because I don't have the most stable version - by the next episode, I do. Maybe I should have just taken the hint? Nah!

Games played today:
#4 G-Force Fighter - The first of several sides-scrolling shooters to accompany the several vertical shooters. Why were these so popular? Maybe because they were simple to program. And yet G-Force Fighter is pretty outright terrible. Single-shot limit, unpleasant visuals, poor design that lets you basically skip some stages by being in a certain spot, and shots that are outsped by the shooters make this one you're glad to bypass.

#34 Evil Empire - The game you could potentially play forever! Except why would you? Plenty of extra lives to be found, if you can find your character, which is unnecessarily tiny. As are several enemies. Still, somewhat on the more competent side for the collection. It doesn't typically crash like this, that's a ROM choice problem.

#6 Silver Sword - Also one that doesn't usually crash. You'll see a bit more of it next video when I've fixed that. This one is basically a vertical shooter that doesn't have you on rails, you progress at your own pace, as long as that pace is slooooooooowwwwwwww. You also have an invisible health bar. Why is it invisible? Clearly, they were capable of programming a visible health bar. Scrolling issues and sprite weirdness are also present.

#47 Hambo's Adventures - Why only one life? I guess they didn't want you playing for very long. Even if they do give extra lives, getting to them can be a chore with the enemies that are a bear to dodge. There's also the tricky jumping mechanic to contend with. Strangely enough, though, I actually feel like I adapted pretty well to that. It isn't that hard to pull off a quick tap and lose little lateral movement. Still a poor choice, but I've seen people lose their heads over it.
