You can avoid Raven Beak's laser (the one where he aims a laser sight at you first) By doing a dash melee by pressing X and then holding L and diagonally up towards Raven Beak. You don't want to be under Raven Beak to do this. The further away you are, the better. You may take a small amount of damage. I'm guessing Raven Beak is aiming at you as if you're still standing, but since you're kinda crouching, he doesn't hit you.
