Does a JRPG's "Replay Value" Still Matter?
By "Replay Value" I mean stuff you can only access on subsequent play-thoughs, alternate endings, alternate routes. Replay value used to be a huge selling point for RPGs back in the 90s when RPGs felt sparse and we only had a few RPGs we could play. But today we're spoiled for choice, and locking content behind subsequent play-throughs hardly seems worth it anymore. At least to me, but I could be alone on this, so let's talk about it!
