164The original NTSC-U releases of the #nes console had no "tm" on the door. It's one easy way to quickly identify if it is an early model. However, many people fix these consoles and use different parts and switch out lids, so looking at the motherboard revision and the serial number on the bottom will really tell you if you have an early model!
