0Vampire Survivors is a New Year's special video, and what better way to say cheerio to 2022 than by killing thousands of undead monstrosities in this brilliantly over-the-top game?
So, little secret, I've played this game a lot 'off camera'. I've sunk many hours into it and I have to say that it's surprised me with how much I've enjoyed it. In fact I'd say this is my surprise hit of the year, a little hidden gem which is so simple to pick up and play and rewards replaying the game multiple times by giving you access to all sorts of extra bits and bobs.
Vampire Survivors is really hard to categorise. It's a roguelite gothic horror game but it's more than that, it's a game where you have to turn yourself into a deadly weapon capable of obliterating everything the game can throw at you, and believe me, the game will throw a LOT of monsters. Lots and lots, tens of thousands!
We play as Genarro Belpaese in the Inlaid Library stage and we attempt to pick up a decent collection of weapons and items. Things go well on our monster-killing spree and we're soon able to evolve some of our weapons into their super-powerful forms!

Starting Tips
Take your time to grab gems and items, they won't disappear.
Get two or three offensive weapons at first, but focus on leveling them up one at a time.
Armour and Luck are good starting power-ups to spend money on.
Refund power-ups often, it's free, and try new upgrade paths.
