0dotAGE is a gorgeous pixel art settlement builder game where we play as Matus, a grumpy old man who loves nothing more than to shout right up in people's faces!
Matus is the village elder and the game is him telling the story of how the village came to be. His main method of getting people working is indeed to run right up to them and shout at them quite a lot, which seems to work because everyone does work quite hard!
Although it is a settlement builder, with classic settlement builder things like gathering food and building homes, there's also an underlying plot involving a prophecy.
The prophecy means that various 'domains' are watching over us, wanting our settlement to fail. As time passes by they can bring events to us and we have to counter their influence as best we can.
For example, if the fear domain is affecting us then we must build special buildings to bring hope and defeat fear! It's a really interesting game mechanic that works to make the game a little more interesting than a regular settlement builder.

In dotAGE, you are the village elder, spiritual guide of a faraway village. WIth a handful of Pips, your fellow villagers, you will build a thriving village in an empty valley.

The Prophecy Looms: the complex Fate system will throw more than 300 events at you to fight off. From simple coughs to earthquakes, from tornadoes to plagues, from volcanoes to inondations, from taxes to kittens, from diseases to furious murders.
The world changes: life becomes harder and harder as you play, keep an eye on the current levels of Fear, Sickness, Heat, Cold, and Cataclysm!
