Dollar Store Tech & Geek Haul. USB C Chargers, KO Lego, Phone Cases, Fart Machine, Screen Protectors
I hit up a Dollar Tree because I heard they were selling USB-C type chargers from their own house brand e-circuit that they rate at 2.1 AMP. In typical Dollar Tree fashion, they were all decorated in fabulous sparkling color. I was surprised to learn that these units charge even faster than generic USBC type cables that you can get at Target. I do a quick review of them in this video.
No trip to the dollar tree is complete without picking up a few phone cases. How can you go wrong with a buck a case? Most of them are distinctively feminine but you can still get some bare clear cases without too much trouble. I noticed that the card backs have changed from being paper back to plastic sealed. Probably because degenerates have a habit of opening the cases. Or maybe the cases just open on their own. Either way, I'm totally happy buying up a bunch for users who would otherwise walk around with a completely naked phone!! Yuck! Folks, you deserve better than that! Don't ever walk around without a protected case. It's a sign that you don't pay for your own phone.
The price of the screen protectors can't be beat either. I love the tempered glass screen protectors they sell here. Only once have I ever failed to get them on properly. And that was only because I was being super careless. The tempered glass units are much better and more forgiving than the plastic molded ones.
Since Lego lost its copywrite to its size of bricks, everyone and their mother have been making their own compatible sized legos, and the Dollar-Tree versions seem to hold up on their own. I bought some light-up bricks and they really make a great show of things. They are a little oddly sized but they still work fine. I also bought some see-through bricks to pipe the light along. I am not disappointed with the quality one bit.
Another thing that was kinda curious is that they were selling cases for Apple Watches. I really don't get why though. I mean, I can understand why you might want to get a cheap case for a cell phone. You can get cell phones for relativly cheap new with a contract or if work gives you one. Apple watches generally aren't given by work or on contract though. So if you have an Apple Watch, I don't see that type of person buying cases at Dollar Tree. I might just be completely off my rocker though. To each their own and what not, right? The Apple Watch really seems like a status symbol more than a useful device. Maybe I need to buy one for myself to see.
Next up is the fart machine. What could go wrong with a far machine? This is the type of stuff you might find advertised in the back of a comic-book. Do I need it? No... Do I want it? HELL YEAH I do!! =D!! Fart Machine Teardown anyone?? What?? It's tech!!
