Dolly Parton receives Jeff Bezos Award
0Dolly Parton received the Bezos Courage and Civility Award, Jeff Bezos announced on Friday. The award, which honours people who "pursue solutions with courage and civility," was given to Dolly Parton by Jeff Bezos and his partner, news anchor Lauren Sanchez. The 76-year-old country singer also received a title and $100 million to be given to charities of her choice.
The former CEO and President of Amazon reposted Sanchez's video from the occasion, in which they announced the recipient for this year, on Instagram on Saturday.
"Jeff and I are so proud to share that we have a new Bezos Courage and Civility Award winner — a woman who gives with her heart and leads with love and compassion in every aspect of her work," Lauren Sanchez wrote. "We can’t wait to see all the good that you’re going to do with this $100 million award, DollyParton."
