Morgan Freeman receives keys to this city
0As he gave actor Morgan Freeman a Key to the City on Saturday, Natchez Mayor Dan Gibson said he will never forget the occasion.
For months, Morgan Freeman's new History Channel programme, "Great Escapes with Morgan Freeman," has been filming in Natchez, the Hollywood of the South. Filming for Season 2, which will include eight episodes, has recently finished, according to Gibson. Season 1 has already been released.
While much of Morgan Freeman's narration has been recorded in a studio, the city of Natchez has heard whispers that the renowned voice actor may be there.
These rumours have come true.
A picture of Freeman and the mayor taken as Gibson gave him the Key to the City was posted online by Natchez Film Company.
Gibson said that he and the production firm pulled together the presentation "at the last minute." Gibson stated that he intended to personally compose the text on the certificate that would be given to Freeman along with the key. He worked on it on Friday, and according to him, the framing business completed it quickly. Minutes after it happened, he got a call to schedule the meeting, which happened on Saturday night.
