Donald Sterling Set Up By The NBA and Magic Johnson
In light of this whole "Donald Sterling is racist" scandal that is being played in almost every news, sports, or gossip channel over and over again including the NBA's own channel and TNT's broadcast of NBA playoffs games, I have been able to come up with my opinions on what I think is going on and a lot of people are ignoring. I am not defending what Donald Sterling said because it was wrong (though said by a lot of people of different ethnic groups) but there seems to be an underlying sequence of coincidences that everyone is ignoring. The NBA and a lot of people involved have known that Donald Sterling has held these views for a long time. Magic Johnson has been wanting to buy an NBA franchise for a long time, so when a gold digging girlfriend (V. Stiviano) of an ignorant NBA owner takes a picture with Magic Johnson and then records a subsequent conversation with her boyfriend a.k.a. "NBA owner" (Donald Sterling) incriminating him of racism to the point where he might lose his NBA team, and immediately a day later there are talks of Magic Johnson being first in line to buy Donald Sterling's NBA team (the Clippers), this is a HUGE RED FLAG. What Donald Sterling did was wrong, but we have to look to ourselves and reflect on whether we have held similar prejudices consciously or subconsciously and whether a man deserves to be crucified for having internal private expressions that are similar to what we may have expressed before no matter what ethnicity each one of us is.
