The Oculus Rift was acquired in a major deal worth 2 billion dollars by Facebook. Immediately the internet firestorm started and everybody started going crazy, this made me realize that the hate on facebook was actually strong among a small vocal online community. The thing is though, Facebook is actually good for the Oculus Rift. Facebook has vast resources, both monetarily and intellectually and this can only be good news for Oculus and virtual reality in general. The final product has a chance to be more advanced, better developed, of higher quality and cheaper, who doesn't want that? I think the hate that some people have towards Facebook has blinded their perception of reality in a sense.
