The Kongs are tough; they can shrug off an entire pond of poison like it was nothing!

We start off this set with the notorious Poison Pond. This place has a lot of spiky wheels rampaging (somehow), and no shortage of Bitesizes either. Mine Cart Rampage makes the last cart stage look like a joke (if you want to get all the bonus stuff). The KONG letters especially tricky. Blackout Basement is surprisingly mild once you get used to the lights going on and off.

The boss of the area is Dumb Drum. Why we're classifying an oil barrel with intelligence is quite strange to me (I guess it is somewhat sentient enough to smash downward), but whatever. He'll try to smash the Kongs, and will release a pair of enemies when he fails to do so. All of the pairs are pretty easy up to the Army pair. The armadillos can blitz the player if he/she isn't aggressive enough to neutralize them quickly.
