My goodness they really dialed up the difficulty curve in this level (especially in v1.0 of the game demo build)!! ππ¦ I believe the game developer mentioned that the levels presented in the demo are not representative of the actual level progression for the final build and should be consumed as a sample platter of sorts, picked from the main dish.

WHAT IS DONO'S TALE? β
Dono's Tale is a 2D platforming adventure with charming retro stylized aesthetics (think Yoshi's Island) and a groovy soundtrack, staring an adorable dragon (or dinosaur?) as the main character. Traverse across various environments on foot with the goal of reaching the flag pole at the end of each level (boss fights will be added in the future) while utilizing an arsenal of special primary (attack/defense) and secondary abilities (mobility and quick dodge) to help deal with pesky enemies, obstacles and challenging terrain that stand in our brave little reptilian's way.
Level explorers and speed running enthusiasts have something to look forward to as the game caters to both play styles in the form of a separate time trial mode (with a differing variation of the stage BGM to boot!). Players can choose to explore every nook and cranny to discover the various collectibles (letter pieces that spell "DONO" and fruits) and hidden areas peppered throughout the level or skillfully blaze though shortcuts and optimal routes in record time with the "Time Trial" mode. Claim ultimate bragging rights among friends or perhaps even the world!!

TIPS FOR MASTERING LEVEL 1 - 4 β
1) You can jump while airborne with the electric dash ability. Hold the direction button towards the side you intend to reach (IMPORTANT! Not doing so will kill all momentum) and spam the jump button while dashing through tight tunnels/gaps. Stage 1- 5 is a good place to practice this in the demo.
2) Executing the electric dash ability locks your movement to that direction for a few seconds. You can't change it mid-dash but I find jumping straight up is the safest way to cancel out of it.
3) If you find yourself struggling to obtain the "O" letter piece found on the lower/bottom route (timestamp: 00:44) you can actually stand on and ride the purple falling platform closest to the "N" letter piece and it will take you down to the sloped section below, with the checkered background. Make use of the feather/wing jump ability to easily collect it. Take note this may get patched in a future update.
4) Using the shell shield while airborne protects Dono's bottom from enemy damage and also gives a nice little deflection bounce (like when Sonic spin jumps on badniks). For the moving spiked wall of death section of the level in particular, I find it quicker to protect Dono's bottom from that one enemy rather than attacking it so you don't lose momentum.
5) If all else fails, did you know there's another hidden route that is much safer? No traps, no enemies and a whole lotta fruit right to the finish line! If you manage to find it, you are cool!! π
