I love playing against the King's Indian! It's not that it's a bad opening, but that it's almost impossible for black to come back into the game if they mess things up early on.

Black relies on active play to compensate for the lack of space in the King's Indian, and, if there is none, they're just worse. Black needs to force open lines for activity. In this game, my opponent failed to do so. In fact, they ended up voluntarily closing the position down and allowing me to be the one controlling the key pawn breaks. It became the first game I'd ever played in which my opponent did nothing for over 30 moves. There was no plan that didn't lose or sac material and they were just waiting to lose. Eventually, I arranged my pieces perfectly, broke through, and it was over 2 moves later.
