Most gamers make this big mistake when building a PC. Many think that buying a motherboard with more DIMM slots is a good idea, but in reality having more slots for RAM is actually not good. Not only does it not have any real benefit to gamers as you can have up to 64GB of RAM in a motherboard with only 2 memory slots, but additionally it has a lower signal integrity meaning that your overclocking potential is lower and especially for DDR5 this can be a big issue where some kits will have XMP ratings that are greater than what can be achieved with a 4 slot motherboard.
