Don't Starve Guide: Base Building
1,344Depending on resource location and what you have on hand, you can build various parts of the base in various orders. However, a start up base must always have a fire pit, science machine, alchemy engine, lightning rod, improved farms and chests.
After that, you can build the bee boxes, bird cage and drying racks in any order. The crock pot should be built at about the same time as the drying racks. Personally, I build the bird cage first if I don't have meat in my inventory so I can farm better, the drying racks as soon as I've caught a koalafant, and bee boxes whenever I'm not doing the other activities.
