165For all the effort you go through to get the guy, he plays astonishingly similarly to everyone else. The biggest divergence to this is very late game where you can expect to replace the nightmare armour, Maxwell can potentially deal with the caves astonishingly well. In adventure mode, you're likely going to lose your armour without being able to replace it so while his sanity is a great bonus in adventure mode, his inability to keep his health steady and his reliance on hard to build gear makes him more risky than he seems.
Even in survival, later on when sanity is no longer an issue it's easy to see him as the same as everyone else but with half standard health. The one thing you could do is rely entirely on the insanity inducing weapons and armour.
