Not sure if this is actually better than DoTA, but the mechanics of it feel easier to learn. Ultimately, I think that there are still going to be hard core players that really learn the combinations of abilities on specific team comps that will make them almost impossible to stop in games against lower tier players.

One thing that's bugging me right out the gate is that actual player efficacy is gated meaning someone who has either spent money or who has played the game a long, long time will have an in game advantage against a newer player. With the weird match making and the fact that your team comp is basically random, this can result in some extremely bad match ups. The character select in something like lol or DoTA makes it easier to control what roles the party is filling and their systems of account leveling don't feel as though they give as much power to veteran players compared to HOTS.
